Brianna & Romel Joseph

Brianna's "Bring Music Back to Haiti" Initiative

Brianna felt deeply honored and privileged to perform for renowned, blind violinist from Haiti, Romel Joseph, at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Tragically, Mr. Joseph was trapped for 18 hours in the rubble of his collapsed New Victorian Music School following the devastating earthquake, shattering his legs and severely fracturing his left hand so badly that he may not be able to play the violin again. Despite his overwhelming pain and the heartache of losing his pregnant wife in the disaster, Mr. Joseph is determined to rebuild his music school and continue teaching impoverished Haitian children the beauty of classical music. Brianna is extremely touched by Mr. Joseph's determination in the face of such tragedy, and is deeply committed to helping him achieve his mission as she believes strongly in music education for all children.
